For Founders

Pitch your startup

We invest in HealthTech and MedTech founders who understand their problem better than anyone else. You are not pitching generalist angels. You are pitching investors who understand healthcare.

Our first pitch day drew 52 applications from founders across the UK.

Investment criteria

  • Pre-seed to seed stage (typically up to £5M round)
  • HealthTech, MedTech, or scientific platform
  • Clear clinical problem with evidence of demand
  • Team that has lived the problem, not just read about it
  • Realistic regulatory pathway (MHRA, CE/UKCA, NHS)
  • Unit economics that work, or a credible path to them

What you get

Smart capital

£50k-£500k aggregated across the syndicate, EIS and SEIS eligible on qualifying investments. Enough capital to matter, without making your cap table messy.

Sector expertise

34 years of GSK pharma leadership, two angel exits, and CPO-level product experience, not investors treating regulation as a footnote.

Partner network

Introductions to Scottish Enterprise (match funding £350k-£2M), Development Bank of Wales, NHS innovation pathways, Priority IP for IP strategy, and Founder Catalyst for SEIS/EIS legal readiness.

Honest feedback

If we pass, we tell you why. We aim to respond within two weeks and give reasons, not just a 'no'.

What a strong submission includes

We review every submission ourselves. These five things give us everything we need to move quickly and give you a meaningful response.

  • A clear description of the clinical problem you are solving
  • Your deck - including team, market, regulatory pathway, and traction
  • Current raise: target size, what is already committed, and your closing timeline
  • Your regulatory status or plan (MHRA, CE/UKCA, NHS DTAC, or equivalent)
  • Any clinical evidence - even early-stage data strengthens the submission

What gets passed quickly

We are honest about fit early, so you do not waste weeks chasing the wrong investor. These are the most common reasons we pass at screening.

  • B2C health apps without a clinical problem at the core
  • Pre-revenue teams with no clinical or domain-credible co-founder
  • Rounds above £5M (outside our stage focus)
  • US-first regulatory strategy, unless there is a clear UK or EU pathway too.
  • Submissions without a deck or without current raise details

How it works

  1. Submit your pitch

Complete the form below. Include your deck, a brief on the clinical problem you are solving, and your current raise details. Takes around five minutes.

  2. Initial screen

We review every submission against our investment criteria: stage, sector, team credibility, regulatory pathway. Most founders hear back within two weeks.

  3. Introductory call

If there is a potential fit, we schedule a 30-minute call with the relevant Pulse Angels partners. We will have read your materials in advance.

  4. Due diligence & syndicate briefing

We conduct clinical, commercial, and team diligence and prepare a briefing note for the syndicate. This typically runs 2-8 weeks from first meeting. Companies with complex regulatory situations or in novel clinical areas should allow more time.

  5. Investment decision

We propose the investment to the syndicate members, who choose whether or not to invest. We confirm participation, handle legal, and close. You get capital, expertise, and a long-term partner.
